Warranty & Returns

           First 60 Days Defect Warranty:

If your rod breaks in the first 60 days of ownership due to a defect we will replace the rod free of charge. Defects usually cause a failure the first time of use and if that happens all you need to do is ship us the whole entire rod and all pieces of it in a disposable tube prepaid and insured to the address below, include a check for return shipping in the amount of $30 and we will ship you a replacement rod if it was determined that it failed due to a defect. The 60 days starts the day you purchase the rod and the rod must get to our facility within 60 days of the purchase date (no exceptions). If the rod is deemed to have been broken due to an accident misuse or neglect by the user the rod will still be eligible for the replacement policy seen below.

                Limited Lifetime Warranty/replacement policy:

If your rod breaks after the first 60 days of ownership simply cut the 6" section of the rod showing which model it is (shown below) and place it along with the check for the warranty fee and return shipping in a padded envelope. Ship it to the address below using a service that is track able. When using this claim we do not care how the rod broke it is a no questions asked policy. Even if you accidentally break it yourself we will still cover it as long as the warranty fee and return shipping is paid. Limit to 4 per year per person. Most rods are broken due to inadvertently getting damaged somehow, being high sticked or neglect. We will not replace the rod unless the warranty fee and return shipping is paid.

This warranty is limited to replacement of the rod and does not cover direct, indirect, consequential, incidental or any other type of damages resulting from the use of this product. This warranty does not cover fire, theft, loss, intentional breakage, modification or customization of the finished rod.  Colors and components may vary between original and replacement.

 Return Shipping amount: $30 for shipping within the US, $40 for shipping in Canada.

**Fitzgerald Rods does not offer any warranty on guides, tip guides, reel seats or handles.**

Replacement guides and tips can be purchased from Fitzgerald Rods. Fitzgerald Rods does not pay shipping for any warranty claim or repairs.

If you would like us to repair damaged guides simply ship us the rod along with a $30 check for return shipping. Fill out the attached warranty form explaining the issue. We charge $8 per guide and per tip that needs to be replaced. 

 Returns and Exchanges: 

All products purchased directly from Fitzgerald Fishing (except custom built rods) come with a 30-day return policy. Within 30 days of receipt of an order, you may return products purchased directly from Fitzgerald Fishing for a refund minus a 15% restocking fee and shipping charges. All returned items must be in like-new condition, securely packed for shipment in the original container. 

Exchanges can be made (except on custom built rods) within 30 days of receiving your rod purchased directly from Fitzgerald Rods, but the rod must be unused and in like new condition. Please package your rod in the same container it was shipped to you and include a $30 check or money order made out to Fitzgerald Rods to cover shipping and handling on the rod that we are sending back to you. You will also need to include the difference in the price if there is one between the rod that you have and the rod that you like to exchange for. Before shipping the rod to us please email us and advise us that you sending a rod back for exchanged and also advise which rod you would like it exchanged with. Please note that if the rod that you would like to exchange for is not already built then it may take up to two weeks for you to receive your new rod.

International Shipping: Consumers are responsible for paying all applicable import taxes, handling fees and duties on all orders.

 Below is an image of the specific section of the broken rod that must be sent in an enclosed padded envelope and shipped USPS First Class Mail or Priority Mail. If this section is not sent the rod will not be eligible for a warranty replacement.

REEL WARRANTY

Fitzgerald Fishing will repair or replace, without charge, any Fitzgerald Fishing reel which is defective in workmanship or materials for a period of one year from the date of purchase by the consumer. The warranty extends only to the original owner. Once the reel is received, our service technicians will inspect to identify the issue, and if it is determined to be a manufacturing defect, we will repair the reel and send it back to you at no charge. If the damage is determined to not be warranty eligible (missing parts, accidental, misuse, inadequate care, wear and tear) we will contact you with a price estimate before starting any work. Please follow these instructions when returning reels for warranty repair: Do not remove parts, enclose proof of purchase and a Repair Request Form with nature of problem. Also, please list the model name and number of reel and your return address. To protect against loss or damage in transit, your reel should be carefully packaged and adequately insured. Please retain all shipping receipts.
