This rod is Bryan’s favorite rod for throwing a Chatterbait or vibrating jig. This rod is great for skipping your chatterbait up under docks or over hanging limbs and it is also great for fishing it in open water. This rod is also great for Spinnerbaits, Walking Topwaters & Buzzbaits.

I was impressed with this rod on the first cast. I couldn't wait til my boat was fixed so I took it to the pond and tied on a buzzbait and launched it further than I thought a 6'9" rod could send a bait. When I actually tied on a chatterbait I was even more impressed. You can easily feel every thump, you can work the bait fast without a bunch of torque, the tip allows the fish to get the entire bait but the backbone lets you drive the hook in em real good. Great for skipping as well. You can really do a lot with this rod. Would recommend it to anyone regardless of how much they throw a chatterbait because it can do so much more.
I own each of the Bryan Thrift rods and they just feel right. The taper and actions are spot on and just different then any other rod I have used. It's even hard to explain. I can use the chatterbait rod for everything except a deep crank or serious flipping. These rods are versatile, light, sensitive, and perfect for my height 5'-10". The first time I used them I thought to myself, this is what I was looking for. You need to give one a try, you'll be happy you did.
Great all around general purpose rod. Used it over the last week, swim jig to small swimbait around docks. Just enough tip to load up the rod without pulling to bait away from the bite.
I throw vibrating swim jigs with this rod but like that it is versatile and can handle a variety of swimming lures. I love the micro guides plus the sensetive tip with a great backbone . Whether you are targeting largemouth, smallmouth or stripped bass the chatterbait rod by Bryan Thrift got it done. I used this rod this month for the US Open at Lake Mead, Nevada catching over 30 bass with it and extremely happy how it performed. Can't wait to use it at the cal delta armed with 50lb braid to target those Goliath largemouth in the grass.
This is a great Chatterbait rod, but it's also great for spinnerbaits and swim jigs! Good feel on strikes and good backbone for hook sets. Get one and you will love it. A good addition to my Stunner HDs and Titan HD. You won't be sorry!
My first order with Fitzgerald I ordered 1 of these rods and soon after receiving that order and using this Rod I placed an order for 2 more. You can tell that top notch anglers and thinkers had a hand in the design and action of this Rod. It loads perfectly to skip a chatterbait and to also allow the fish to get the bait good so that you don't react to quickly. This rod can be used for several applications I have thrown many different chatterbaits, squarebills, and spinnerbaits on this Rod and it is very accurate having a more parabolic flex than the other series of rods. Making it perfect for reaction style baits. I will be ordering a few more on my next order.
Earlier this season I can across a technique that I haven't used much in the past and that's swim jig fishing. I was using another brand of rod and I was catching fish, but also I was missing bites as well. It didn't have the sensitivity or the backbone I was looking for. I saw that the Bryan Thrift Chatterbait rod was rated from 1/4 oz to 3/4 oz. so I picked one up. let me tell you, this rod is PERFECT for this application. I can feel every branch or blade of grass that I come in contact with, and once a bass hits my swim jig, the rod loads perfectly and I hook them in the roof of the mouth every time. I recently caught a bass on my lunch breah fishing from shore. I pulled the fish through the heavy grass with no problem where I would have lost the fish with another rod. It was nice having a pic to rub in my coworkers face when I went back to work. lol Another great product from Fitzgerald Rods.
I used this rod today for the first time, I couldn't be more impressed. Caught a bunch of fish, the feel and sensitivity was awesome. the rod was light and enjoyed using it for long periods
This rod has the perfect amount of tip and backbone to skip 1/4oz jigs under docks or to burn some chatterbaits. Very well balanced lightweight rod with great sensitivity when the bite is light.
