This is one rod that has made Bryan Thrift a lot of money on Tour. The technique of skipping jigs under docks is a great way to catch a big bass and this rod is the one you want. If your looking for a rod that will put the bait where no one else goes this is the rod for you! This rod is also great for Worming, Swim Jigs, Football Head Jigs & Ripping a Chatterbait Through Grass.

I Fish many tournaments in Central Missouri. I used this rod for the first time earlier this month and it is the best skipping rod I have ever used. I was able to skip whatever bait I was throwing anywhere I wanted. Its a quality rod made by a quality company. It even worked great skipping frogs into heavy flooded cover.
I mainly fish Lake Norman where there are tons of docks, and I learned how to skip with a 7' MH of another brand. Upgrading to this rod is like going from a Chevy Malibu to a Corvette. It skips 3/8 and 1/2 oz jigs with ease, it's light, it's sensitive despite being a heavy action, but it's also very strong. One of the best parts about fishing a jig is a hard hookset, and this rod lets you really lay the wood. I've also thrown swim jigs and a donkey rig on this rod and been happy with the results. If you fish a lot of docks, you need this rod.
Very light and sensitive rod, with enough backbone to pull the fish out of heavy cover. The tip design easily allows you to skip jigs to where is the big boys hide.
This was a Christmas gift for my boyfriend, it has no been used at this time, it does look very nice, sorry that is all the info I have for now.
Trevor and Brian Thrift have out done themselves with the Brian Thrift series rods especially the skipping special. If your passion is skipping jigs, frogs, or plastics under docks, brush or trees, here is the rod you need to have in your boat. This rod along with all of the Fitzgerald rods are top notch and I will be buying more.
This thing is awesome. I got into skipping a few months back and was using just a medium 6'6 Rod. Bought this Rod and it is awesome! I have increased my distance and accuracy with this Rod with ease. Now im the guy in the boat that can get my bait to where the Fishin buddy's can't
This Rod is awesome. Skips a jig perfect, & has plenty of backbone to get her to the boat! Love it!
I'm a tall guy 6'8" and I have tried long rods 7foot to 7'6'for skipping but they didn't feel right. When I saw Bryan Thrift and Fitzgerald came out with a skipping rod, even though it was 6'9", shorter than any previous rod I tried, well I felt I had to buy it and give it a try. I may be tall but this is the best rod I have ever used for skipping and the feel of this rod is unreal!! Highly recommend this rod for skipping.
Perfect tip action for skippin 3/8 and 1/2oz jigs. Also has a strong back bone to pull the out. Fit and finish is awesome. You can go wrong with this rod if you like to skip a jig.
Waited months for the release of this rod and I am not disappointed. I just started learning the skipping technique this summer with mixed results. But this rod has been the key to success. The perfect action to make the rod an extension of the hands and eyes. I no longer have to think about how to skip, just visualize where I want the jig to go and let the rod do the work. This rod makes skipping seem very natural. Bryan and Trevor have developed a great rod for skipping, but I've found its not a one trick pony
